Day 1 Hometown / Tokyo
You will begin your adventure by heading to Tokyo from Vancouver, or connecting to Japan Airlines to Tokyo from your hometown via either Vancouver or Chicago. Your Canadian tour escort is from Vancouver.

Day 2 Arrive Beijing
Arrive Beijing, the capital of China. You will be met by your local guide and transferred to your hotel.

Day 3 Beijing
After breakfast, visit Tian'anmen Square, the largest public square in the world - the square and its periphery are home to some of China's most important monuments and government edifices. Then, tour the adjacent Forbidden City, the largest existing ancient architectural complex in China. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace - an enchanting panorama of lake, landscape, pagodas and pavilions. In the evening, you will enjoy a Beijing Acrobatic Show. (B/L/D)

Day 4 Beijing After breakfast, take a walk on the Great Wall, which winds dragon-like across northern China. After lunch visit Changling, the tomb of Emperor Yongle (Zhu Di) - one of the Ming Tombs at the burial site of thirteen Ming Dynasty Emperors. If time permits, you will visit a cloisonne production factory. This evening enjoy a Peking Duck Dinner . A Beijing Night Tour will be arranged. (B/L/SD)

Day 5 Beijing
After breakfast, visit the Temple of Heaven. Then embark on a bicycle rickshaw tour around the ancient alleyways of a Beijing Hutong - one of Beijing's rapidly vanishing 700 year-old traditional cottage neighborhoods. Visit a family in one of the " Quadrangles".  You'll be treated to a Dumpling Lunch at the home of one of the local families! Later, head to Wangfujing and Silk Alley for shopping. (B/SL/D)

Day 6 Beijing / Xi'an
Morning flight to Xi'an - one of China's ancient capitals. After lunch, visit the Ming Dynasty City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and Shaanxi Provincial Museum. This evening, you will enjoy a Xi'an Special Dumpling Banquet while being entertained by a colourful Tang Dynasty Show. (B/L/SD)

Day 7 Xi'an
Full day tour of Xi'an. First, visit Banpo Neolithic Village where the relics of a prehistoric settlement of the New Stone Age (over 6,000 years ago) were found. Afterwards, view one of the most exciting archaeological finds of the 20th Century - the excavation of more than 6,000 Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, and the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses reproduction factory. A Western Dinner is served tonight and a Xi'an Night Tour will be arranged. (B/L/WD)

Day 8 Xi'an / Yichang ~ Yangtze River Cruise
Today you will fly to Yichang. If there is sufficient time, a Yichang city tour will be arranged. After dinner, you will board the deluxe MS Emperor (5 Star). (B/L/D)

Day 9 Yangtze River Cruise This morning a shore excursion at Sandouping will take you to view the "Three Gorges Dam" site, the biggest dam in the world. After re-boarding your ship, you will pass through the dam's 5-Stage Ship Locks and enter the first Gorge, Xiling Gorge , the longest and previously the most hazardous one. Today enjoy the Captain's Welcome Cocktail Party and Dinner, followed by "Emperor's Night " - a singing and dancing performance. (B/L/SD)

Day 10 Yangtze River Cruise
After breakfast, enjoy a tracker boat ride along the deep, peaceful gorges of the Shennong Stream, with its waterfalls and magnificent peaks. You will return to the ship and set sail again entering the second gorge - W u Gorge, known for its odd, misty rock formations and its backdrop of soaring mountains. Later in the afternoon, the ship will pass the third gorge - Qutang Gorge, the shortest but the most dramatic of the Yangtze's Three Gorges with ancient relics scattered along its steep cliffs. Tonight enjoy another "Emperor's Night" - a singing and dancing performance. (B/L/D)

Day 11 Yangtze River Cruise
This morning you will arrive at the "ghost city" of Fengdu. A shore excursion will take you to visit the temples on Mingshan Hill by the riverbank, which is decorated with moldings of ghosts and devils. Tonight, enjoy the Captain's Farewell Banquet, followed by "Emperor's Night" - a singing and dancing performance. (B/L/SD)

Day 12 Chongqing / Guilin
Your cruise will terminate at Chongqing in the morning. If time permits before your flight to Guilin, a Chongqing city tour will be offered. Tonight you will enjoy a Guilin Folk Dance and Music Show. (B/L/D)

Day 13 Guilin After breakfast, enjoy a beautiful Li River cruise. Disembark at Yangshuo and check out the colourful and lively market before returning by coach to Guilin. A Guilin Night Tour will be arranged. (B/L/D)

Day 14 Guilin / Shanghai
This morning in Guilin you will visit Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill, Reed Flute Cave. Then fl y off to bustling Shanghai, China's largest city and seaport. After dinner, enjoy a Huangpu River Night Cruise. (B/L/D)

Day 15 Shanghai Today's Shanghai city tour takes you to the People's Square, Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Yuan Garden, and Shanghai's famous riverside promenade " The Bund”. Afterwards, tour the ultra-modern Pudong Development Zone and get a closer look at the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Visit a Shanghai Silk Factory. Tonight you will enjoy a Shanghai Farewell Dinne. Day 16 Shanghai (Free Day)
Today is free for you to explore Shanghai on your own. Lunch and Dinner by your own arrangement. (B)

Day 17 Shanghai / Hometown
After breakfast, bid farewell to China and depart for Tokyo with an immediate connection back home. (B)
